AWKA, Anambra- Media houses were on Thursday barred from covering  the inaugural  ceremony of Prof. Charles Soludo transition committee in Anambra state just   as governor Willie Obiano shunned the event.

The governor was expected to grace the occasion but was visibly absent raising the suspicion of possible rift between the two.  Journalists who went to the  venue of the ceremony to cover the inauguration were denied entry into hall  on the ground that  they were not needed.

Among the media house denied entry are Daily Trust,  News  Agency of Nigeria NAN , New Telegraph , ThisNigeria,  Guardian ,Nigeria Pilot , Leadership, Daily Times  and others.

All efforts made by the journalists  to convince the committee that they   were supposed to cover the inauguration proved abortive. A member of the  media team  said that they are not interested in Daily Trust and others to cover the programme.

According to the man whose  identity is not known  the committee has its own media team to cover  the event. When contacted the Anambra state commissioner for information and public enlightenment Mr. C. Don Adinuba said he  and   the governor are not in  the programme.

He said that he is not a member of the committee, noting that he has serious businesses  in the ministry of information. The governor is not there and I am not there. I am not bordered being there. I have more serious things doing in the ministry  ” he said
