Istanbul, June 29, 2016 -It is now clear that 147 people were injured in Tuesday attack at Atartuk Airport, Istanbul, seen as one of the most secured airport in Europe, officials have said.

Thirty-six(36) people were killed when the terrorists, three in number gained access to the airport through the departure lounge.
Reports say that two of the bombers engaged the security forces in a shootout before they detonated explosives that accounted for the huge number of deaths.

Television footage showed one of the attackers armed with AK 47 riffle shot as he rushed into the departure area.

Although no group has claimed responsibility, Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan suspects members of the Islamic State of Iran and Syria (ISIS) as responsible for the attack.

So far the normal activities have resumed at the airport with heavy security mounted in and around the airport.
