SPAIN – Germany and Barcelona midfielder Ilkay Gündogan reportedly cut his head in a small accident at the gym and needed stitches, according to the Spanish media.
The Mundo Deportivo newspaper reported on Sunday that Gündogan was left bleeding after being was struck by one of the weights and eventually ended up going to hospital to have the injury checked out.
His wife, Sara, posted a picture on Instagram showing the injury: “Ending 2023 with stitches,”t she wrote.
The midfielder, however, is expected to play Barcelona’s next league game against Las Palmas on Thursday.
