AWKA, Nigeria – Anambra Labour Party LP, Lawmaker Hon. Henry Mbachu has stated that the level of poverty and inequality among the citizens in the country is a great threat to national security, stability and unity.
Mbachu, a member of Anambra State House of Assembly representing Awka South 1 constituency made the statement during a tour of some markets in his area.
He advocated for the creating of more job opportunities for the underprivileged to reduce poverty level in the country.
According to him, implementing economic and institutional reforms for efficiency, would help elevate some of the economic challenges.
He advocates change of strategy against poverty in the country , saying that sustainable approach remains key to tackling the country’s increasing rate of poverty.
Mbachu urged the young people to come out and assist the government in the fight against corruption by being active partners in the development and growth of their local communities.
