Edo, Nigeria, Sept., 08, 2016 – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that it will go ahead with the Edo State Governorship elections scheduled for Saturday, September 10, 2016.
Addressing journalists in Edo State, INEC Commissioner in charge of Voter Education and Publicity Committee, Prince Solomon Adedeji Soyebi said that the INEC will go ahead with the election and that the commission has reached not less than 97 percent preparation to conduct the election.
He added that the commission has implemented all items in the timetable released earlier in March this year and that it will not be teleguided and that it will not do anything that would mortgage the future of democracy in Nigeria
