LAGOS, Nigeria – The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has directed the Commissioner of Police, Osun Stae, CP Olaleye Faleye to investigate alleged assault on a police woman, Inspector Olorunsogo Bamidele.
Inspector Bamidele had uploaded a video online which went viral with wounds all over her hands, alleging that her superior, who was despirate to have an affair with her assaulted her for refusing to go into an amorous relationship with her.
She gave the name of her assailant as Mathew Ajayi of Ode-Omu Police Station, Osun State.
“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, … has directed the Commissioner of Police, Osun State, CP Olaleye Faleye, to investigate the alleged assault on woman Inspector Olorunsogo Bamidele by her DCO in Ode-Omu Osun State”, Force PRO, FHQ Abuja, Muyiwa Adejobi said in a statement.
He said that the Police awaits the report of the investigation from Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken.
“However we assure the general public that justice will be done in the case, to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF”, he said.
