LAGOS, Nigeria – Protesters in Anambra state on Saturday defiled governor Willie Obiano 24 hours curfew and broke into warehouse where COVID-19 palliatives were stored.
The protesters numbering about 2000 stormed the state Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) office in Agu Awka, government house with army and security men watching.
The protesters who had besieged the warehouse carted away thousands of food packs, including indomie noodles, rice and other items, claiming that state government horded the items and planned to use them for the campaign in 2021 instead of distributing the items to the poor.
According to them, Obiano should be held responsible if anyone dies in Awka today.
