IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Skales’s manager, Kolawole Olugboyega alias Kollertunz and Yewande Adeoye tied the knot on the 10th of December 2017 at the Anglican Church of Ascension, Opebi Multipurpose Hall Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.
How We Met: The Bride – Yewande
We met one day while I was strolling out of school with my sister. He drove past us, reversed and blocked us from moving. He got down, said hi but I just walked away. He became friends with my sister eventually, one day she asked me to drop something at her “friend’s place”. When I saw him, he laughed and said “after all your shakara, you are here” and we went from there.
The Proposal: The Groom – Kola
From the moment I saw her, I just knew that I couldn’t stay away. We were in a relationship for a year and I just knew, I had to make Yewande mine in the sight of God and man. I had planned the whole proposal in my head one night when I visited her; I got to her house that night and took one of her rings to get her ring size. I explored jewelers for a while before picking the perfect ring.
I kept waiting for the perfect time to propose and eventually, In November, Dj Xclusive’s party was coming up and I asked him and Dotun Cool FM to help me with my proposal. We decided that his all white party would be the perfect surprise engagement and honestly I was so nervous because I knew how crowded it would be but I got tired of waiting with the ring and I was about to burst with anticipation.
At the party, we were having fun until I got on one knee and immediately the music stopped. Dotun started hyping the whole proposal which we planned but it made me more nervous. Still on my knee, I asked her to marry me and she said yes. Words couldn’t begin to express my relief and people cheered.
