ONITSHA, Nigeria – Governor of Imo state and chairman of Reconciliation Committee of All Progressive Congress (APC) members in South East , Gov. Hope Uzodinma has stated that the party would do everything possible to win the Anambra 2021 governorship in November.
Uzodinma stated this at APC South East stakeholders meeting held in Awka Anambra State capital on Saturday.
“Election of November 6th ,2021 in Anambra State is a most win election. APC on south east most mobilise the known and unknown to win the election ” he said.
According to him , APC cannot win Anambra governorship election without unity in the party. He called on all stakeholders and members of the party to work together as one family in the forthcoming election.
He also assured that APC national ,, south east and Anambra will not impose any candidate on the people of Anambra State.
“We want to return the party to the People and the candidate of the party will emerge through the people. The national has no anointed candidate for the Anambra State governorship elections” he said.
Speaking at the occasion, the Minister of Science and Technology Dr Ogbonnaya Onu also appealed to party members in the state to be united if they are desirous of winning the governorship election.
According to him, APC cannot win the election if it approaches the governorship election as a divided house. “If we want to win the election, we must be united. We in APC South East will do all things possible to make sure that APC produce the next governor in Anambra State.
Earlier in his address Anambra State APC chairman Chief Basil Ejidike identified disunity ,lack of funds among others as major challenges of the party. He appealed to stakeholders to help the state party to solve the problems especially as they approach election this year.
