LAGOS, Nigeria – Chairman Board of Trustees of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, Alhaji Buba Galadima has criticized President Muhammadu Buhari over the recent national merit award he gave to 450 Nigerians.

Buba Galadima who was speaking on Arise TV said half of the 450 Nigerians Buhari honoured should be in prison because they are people of questionable characters.

He said he is surprised that it is the same Buhari who questioned Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for the rational for giving merit award to certain categories of Nigerians, stressing that the National Merit Award ought to be given to Nigerians in retirement who have served their nation with all honesty and meritoriously and not to millionaires.

He said that the award should be given to people of impeccable character, not millionaires but  to people who have served the nation with all honesty when they retire

Speaking on his party and the 2023 general election,  Buba Galadima  said the NNPP has organic crowd unlike people who say it is only popular in Kano State. He said his party was forced to abort some movement in Lagos for security reasons and not to give impression that will make them target of major political parties.

According to him, those who underrate the NNPP do so at their peril. He said the PDP rented school children in their rally in Uyo with stadium half filled and that a particular party lunching Presidential campaign in Kano  has already sent N500 million  for distribution to mobilise people ahead of the rally.

He said the rally held by his party is different and that people follow the party because it represents hope for Nigerians and that its Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso PhD remains the most qualified candidate to win the 2023 presidential election.
