LAGOS, NIGERIA — Forget your average gym session! Over 10,100 fitness fanatics, lifestyle lovers, and party-goers descended on the Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island for the spectacular two-part VerveLife 8.0 Grand Finale, proving that a healthy lifestyle can be the ultimate party.
Dubbed ‘Elev8,’ this year’s event cemented its status as Africa’s biggest fitness and lifestyle gathering, transforming the prestigious venue into a high-energy playground of sweat, inspiration, and serious rewards.
Sweat, Stars, and a Brand New Motor!
The day kicked off with an exhilarating array of activities.
Attendees, from beginners to advanced pros, jumped into intense routines led by top trainers like Kemen, Trebla, Mayorfit, and South African star Queen Fitnass. Fitness buffs tackled everything from spin bikes and trampolines to a massive multi-level obstacle course. There were even masterclasses and a fully-equipped ‘Kiddies Corner’ to keep the tiny tots engaged while their parents chased those gains!
The high-octane fitness session culminated in a major giveaway that left participants reeling. While Peter Alfred and Paul Amedu each flexed their way to a cool ₦1 million prize, it was Chidera Nkem who stole the show. Nkem drove home the grand prize: a brand-new car, courtesy of Verve, Google Play, Chery, and Carloha. Talk about a major motivation to hit the squat rack.
From Workout to After-Party
As the sun set, the energy didn’t drop—it simply shifted gears. The VerveLife 8.0 After Party took over, transforming the venue into an electrifying concert.
The crowd worked off their remaining energy on the dance floor, fuelled by massive performances from Nigerian music icon Timaya, King Ojem, and Shoday. Keeping the vibe sky-high were celebrity guests including Big Brother Naija star Tobi Bakre and comedian Broda Shaggi, alongside other stars like Dr. Sid and Timi Dakolo, all of whom came out to celebrate the fusion of fitness and fun. Top DJs like Crowd Kontroller and DJ Maze kept the place jumping well into the early hours of the morning, bringing a thrilling close to the epic event.
Cherry Eromosele, Executive Vice President, Group Marketing and Corporate Communications at Interswitch Group (Verve Card’s parent company), highlighted the event’s growing significance.
“VerveLife has officially evolved from a fitness event to a movement,” she stated.
“Every year, we see stronger participation, deeper connections, and greater enthusiasm… We are proud to provide a platform that not only promotes physical fitness but also encourages balance, motivation, and a spirit of togetherness.”
With the 8.0 edition building on a legacy of merging health, fun, and lifestyle rewards, the brand has already announced that plans are kicking off for the 2026 event, VerveLife 9.0.
