MABUSHI, Abuja, Nigeria – Properties worth several millions went up in flames on Sunday morning, when fire razed NEXT Cash and Carry store in  Mabushi, Abuja.

It is not clear what caused the fire, which occurred while many where either on their way to or from the church.

The incidents led to heavy traffic build up in the area as many who rushed to the scene seized the opportunity of the commotion to help themselves with the goods including mattresses, food items, soft drinks and any other items that is within reach.

Although the Federal Fire service mobilized about four fire trucks to the scene to put out the fire, but the scale of devastation would take a heavy toll on the owner of the store.

Public Relations Officer, Federal Fire, SF Ugo Huan who also confirmed the incident said the fire took place at the Next Cash and Carry Store in Jahi and urged Nigerians to avoid the area.

There are speculation that NEXT Cash and Carry is owned by Obi Cubana.
