Leader of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau has claimed responsibility for the June 25 bombing of tank farms in Creek road, Apapa, Lagos.
Leader of the group owned up to the bombing in a video he posted online on Sunday.

“A bomb went off in Lagos. I ordered (the bomber) who went and detonated it,” Shekau said. He also claimed a bomb in a shopping mall in Abuja’s upmarket Wuse II district that killed 24 people, the third in the capital since April and among a growing body of evidence that its attacks are spreading southwards.

However, Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Alhaji Umaru Manko however dismissed media reports then that it was the handiwork of the terrorist. He described the incident as mere gas explosion and called on residents of the state to go about their normal business and that Lagos State is safe.
