IYANGANKU, Oyo, Nigeria – A manager with an Ibadan-based company, Ayokunle Ajetunmobi, a quality control analyst at Expand Global Industry was on Thursday docked at Oyo State High Court, sitting at Iyanganku for alleged theft of his employer’s goods worth over N100, 362,332 million.
Ajetunmobi, who work with Expand Global Industry Limited, was arraigned before Justice A. S Bolaji by Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (FCIID), Alagbon-Ikoyi, Lagos, on a 13 count-charge of conspiracy, stealing, fraudulent conversion and fraud.
Prosecutor, Mr. Morufu Animashaun allegedly that the defendant committed the offence between the month of April and October 2018, at the company’s iOluyole Industrial Estate Extension, Ibadan. According to him, the defendant committeed the offences under pretence of supplying the goods to the company’s customers but ended up diverting the proceeds to his personal purse.
In the charge marked I/13C/2019, the prosecutor alleged that the defendant and others now at large, stole goods worth N18, 911. 056.50 million.
He was also alleged to have stolen others goods worth N34, 352. 556.00 million and another valued N15, 098, 779.50 million.
The offences according to the prosecutor are punishable under sections 516,442(1) 390 the Criminal Code Act. Code C38, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Following his not guilty plea, the presiding judge, Justice Bolaji, admitted him to bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties each in like sum.
One of the sureties, must be a landed property owner within the court’s jurisdiction. And the second surety according to the judge must be a civil servant in the federal or Oyo State government not below Grade Level 12.
The judge further ordered that the sureties must depose to affidavits of means with their two current passport photographs. The matter has been adjourned to 25 and 26 June for further hearing.
