Erdogan reelected Turkiye President after run-off

INSTANBUL – Turkiye President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been re-elected for another five years after ruling the country for about 20 years.

Erdogan could not secure the total vote required forcing the election to go into run off between him and his greatest challenger, Kamal Kilicdaroglu.

But results of the run-off released today showed that Recep Tayyip Erdogan secured 52 percent of total votes to win the presidential run off, while Kamal Kilicdroglu secured 48 percent.

Tayyip Erdogan became president after his successful stewardship as mayor of Instanbul.
Born February 26, 1954, he is the 12 President of Turkey and has been ruling since 2014.

He previously served as Prime Minister of Turkey from 2003 to 2014. Before then, he was Mayor of Instanbul from 1994 to 1998.

He was founder of Justice and Development Party, APK in 2001.
