#endSARS: SERAP puts Falana on standby as APC moves to shutdown Twitter

LAGOS, Nigeria – Social Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP has put Human Rights Lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana on standby to defend it in a suit filed by a member of the All Progressive Congress(APC) seeking to shutdown Twitter in Nigeria as a result of the #endSARS protest.
In a statement, SERAP said it has decided to join the suit, S/N: FHC/ABJ/CS/1391/2020 filed by APC member seeking to shutdown Twitter because of #EndSARS protests.
“We’ll challenge this suit, defend free speech & access to information of everyone”, SERAP said, adding “If you would like to join us, please send your full names”, it said.

SERAP said it has just instructed Femi Falana, SAN to lead a team of senior lawyers to represent it and other interested Nigerians to challenge this suit, and to defend people’s rights to freedom of expression, access to information, and peaceful assembly.
