LAGOS, Nigeria – Lagos state Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, On Friday evening announced that the 24-hour curfew imposed on Lagos in the wake of EndSARS Protest has been relaxed.
Citizens who have something important to do can now go out from 8am in Saturday, while the curfew will start by 6pm till the following morning.
He, however, cautioned motorists to be careful of the burnt tyres and other barricades on the road, adding that LAWMA from this evening, will start the cleaning exercise.
Speaking after his inspection to assess the level of damage to government and private properties, Sanwo-Olu said the level of destruction was mind boggling.
He also assured that Lagos will rise again despite the monumental tragedy that befell the state.The Governor admonished those still sending messages to inflame passion and cause more destruction, to desist from the ugly act.
Meanwhile, the Governor on Friday morning commenced a tour of sites where hoodlums destroyed and vandalised properties for two days running.
The governor visited Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Secretariat, which was totally destroyed and all cars in the premises, either burnt or damaged.

Other properties destroyed by the arsonists in the compound, include an old generation bank, and a police station adjoining the secretariat.
A number of people at the station lamented that they were sons and daughters of police officers and wondered why their parents should be singled out by the hoodlums when they were simply performing their lawful duties.
The governor also visited some other spots in the area that suffered extensive damage.
