ONITSHA, Nigeria – Friends, family and well-wishers on Tuesday September 15, showered encomiums on the Chairman, First Rotech Group, Chief Austin Oguejiofor, who marked his 50th birthday at the Oma Event Centre, Awka, the Anambra capital.
It was a glorious moment for the celebrant as dignitaries described Oguejiofor as “a man with humble beginnings, who rose to prominence by dint of hard work, discipline and selflessness.”

Chief Oguejiofor, born on Sept. 15, 1970, is a businessman and philanthropist, who hails from Urunnebo, Enugwu-Ukwu community of Anambra and has made his mark in the real estate sector, general construction and property management.
In an interview with newsmen at the event, former Governor of Central Bank, Chief Chukwuma Soludo, praised Oguejiofor for heeding to Gov. Willie Obiano’s call urging indigenes of Anambra to invest in the state.
Soludo commended Oguejiofor’s foresight in entering into a Public Private Partnership (PPP), arrangement with Anambra State Government in the construction of a smart city at Nkwelle Ezunaka, a short distance away from Onitsha and the Anambra International Cargo Airport site.
“He has proved to be a good son of the state and worthy of emulation and celebration,” he said.
A philanthropist, businessman and former governorship aspirant in the state, Chief Johnbosco Onunkwo, while wishing Oguejiofor good health and more blissful years, thanked him for his service to humanity.
“He has attained an age that is worth celebrating because of the huge role he has played in the society. I wish him many more years to keep the good work,” Onunkwo said.
On his part, Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Pascal Agbodike described the celebrant as a fantastic role model, who has exhibited remarkable vision, and selflessness.
The traditional Ruler of Nteje community in Oyi Local Government Area, Igwe Rowland Odegbo said that at 50, Oguejiofor had achieved a fulfilling career to celebrate him.
Also speaking, Miss Chinenye Oguejiofor, daughter of the celebrant, described her father as a loving and caring man. According to her, “you can see the kind of crowd that came here. It is because of his love and care for people. I feel proud that he is my dad”, she said. She said even at 50, her dad makes out time for everyone including his family.
“I have leant a lot from him, especially as it pertains to accommodating and working with different kinds of people.I wish him long life and prosperity, more successes and wisdom,” she said.
Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, a People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, Anambra Commissioner for Housing, Mr Mike Okonkwo, Managing Director of ABS, Chief Uche Nworah and traditional rulers, among other dignitaries also graced the colourful event and spoke well of the celebrant.
Highlights of the event were musical, comedy and cultural performances by various artistes and groups including the popular evangelist, Odumeje and Chief Imo.
