Emir of Kano: Obasanjo speaks on Sanusi’s deposition
ABEOKUTA, Ogun, Nigeria – Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has reacted to deposition of Muhammad Sanusi II as Emir of Kano and appointment of Ado Bayero as Emir of Kano.
In a statement, he personally addressed to Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Obasanjo described his removal as a sad and good news.

He urged Sanusi to continue on the part he has chosen for himself in the best interest of the country and humanity.
“I woke up this morning after my morning exercise, devotion and my morning meeting with my staff, I heard of the sad and goodnews of your removal by the Executive Council of the Government of Kano State.
“It is sad because it was undeserved. It is good because you have paid the price.
My prayer is that God should continue to give you the fortitude and the courage to continue on the part you have chosen for yourself in the best interest of our country and humanity”, he said.
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was deposed yesterday by the Kano State Government and exiled to Nasarawa.
