It’s not in my place to endorse any candidate – PA Fasoranti

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Pan-Yoruba Socio-cultural organization, Afenifere has insisted that candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi remains the candidate of the organisation.

The leader of Afenifere, PA Ayo Adebanjo who made the revelation said that the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu bribed some members of Afenifere to put a show that there is division in the body, adding that irrespective of what has happened, Peter Obi remains the candidate of Afenifere.

PA Ayo Adebanjo said he will not engage Tinubu and those he gave money on the issue but that the  position of Afenifere remains clear.

“Tinubu bribed some people with little money to put up a show that there’s a division in Afenifere.

“I won’t engage him and those he gave money to because we have already made our position clear that Peter Obi is our candidate”,  he said.

Recall that Bola Tinubu visited  PA Reuben Fasoranti, a member of Afenifere during which he  placed his hands on Tinubu to pray for him. Former Minister of Finance, Chief Olufalaye who has spoken vehemently against Afenifere’s endorsement of  Peter Obi instead of Tinbu was in the gathering and other prominent Yoruba sons.

Meanwhile PA Reuben Fasoranti has said that he did not endorse Tinubu for the 2023 general election contrary to public perception.

According to him, Tinubu and his people came for prayers and that he prayed for him. Pa Fasoranti who said he will also pray for Peter Obi if he comes said it is not in his place to endorse any candidate.

“I did not endorse Tinubu. He came with his people for prayers and as a father, I prayed for him. If Obi comes too, I will pray for him. It is not in my place to endorse anyone, that is exclusivity of the Afenifere, which I’m no longer the leader, ”Pa Reuben Fasoranti.
