IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Justice Cybil Nwaka of the Special Offences Court Ikeja, Lagos today revoked the bail granted to Adegboyega Adenekan, Upper Primary School Supervisor at Chrisland School, Lekki, Lagos.

The judge revoked the bail shortly after Adenekan, who was being led in his defence by Olatunde Adejuyigbe(SAN) denied the allegations of sexually abusing the 2 year old girl, describing the allegation as shocking.

Justice Nwaka said she has the feeling that Adenekan may not attend the hearing tomorrow and decided to remand him in Kirikiri Prison till tomorrow for the good of the defendant.

Adegboyega Adenekan who seems to be excited in his testimony showed no remorse in his testimony in his attempt to prove his innocence, forcing Justice Nwaka to revoke his bail.

Narrating his ordeal, he said it was in November 11, 2016, when he received a call from Mrs. Ireti Oladapo, who alleged on phone that he sexually abused his two year old daughter, who was then a pupil in school.

“When I answered her call, she said, Mr. Adenekan, You sexually abused my 2 year old daughter”. My reply was why, where and when and she said, this is between me and you, please do not tell anybody. She then dropped the phone and thereafter sent me a text which I still had on my phone that ” I want you to still be very close to my daughter”, he said.

Adegboyega Adenekan said he was later bombarded with phone calls from his colleagues in school, namely G.I Asike Head Teacher of the Primary School section, also Mrs. Modibe Head Teacher, Nursery and Mrs. Bayo Olugbonga to whom Mrs. Ireti Oladapo reported the case. Before them, I denied the allegation, he said.

Adeboyega Adenekan told the court that November 12, 2016, G. I Asike Head Teacher of the school called a meeting with Mrs. Ireti Oladapo, whom he said told all in the meeting that a test conducted on the 2 year old girl at Heritage Clinic in Ajah confirmed a case of sexual abuse.

He told the court thereafter that Chrisland School offered to do a comfirmatory test in the school hospital but that Ireti Oladapo, the mother of the two year old girl(names withheld) objected but later consented to after getting in touch with her husband. He told the court that while he was waiting for the test, Ireti Oladapo brought up the idea of conducting a poligraph test(lie detector test).

“I told them that I am willing to make myself available for any test to prove my innocence”, he told the court. More to come later.
