    In just a day, Coronavirus kills 2724 in Brazil as Nigeria reports 130 new cases

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 130 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 161,539. But out of the 161,539 confirmed cases,  147,581 patients have been treated and discharged, while  2,027  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 931 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-46, Ogun-19, Kwara-18, FCT-12, Kaduna-10, Ekiti-6, Abia-5, Edo-3, Sokoto-3, Osun-3, Niger-2, Oyo-2  and Akwa Ibom-1, making a total of 130 new cases.

    “NCDC @NCDCgov 130 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-46, Ogun-19, Kwara-18, FCT-12, Kaduna-10, Ekiti-6, Abia-5, Edo-3, Sokoto-3, Osun-3, Niger-2, Oyo-2  and Akwa Ibom-1 ; 161,539 confirmed ; 147,581 discharged; 2,027 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 122, 086, 638 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 695, 945 patients have lost their lives, while 69,162, 186 others have recovered and therefore discharged. The world is now left with 50, 228, 507 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the Centre, the United States remains the most afflicted,  now reporting  29, 714,219 confirmed cases, while  540, 733 others have been killed by the virus(51, 788 new and 1521 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has confirmed 11, 780, 820 confirmed cases,  287,499 deaths and  10, 413,700 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 1, 079, 621  active cases of Coronavirus(86, 982 new and 2724 deaths*) and India which has reported 11, 514,  331 all time cases, 159, 370 patients are already dead, while 11, 083, 679 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 271, 282 active cases of Coronavirus(39, 726 new and 154 deaths*).

    Russia remains the 4th country worst hit, reporting 4, 388,268 confirmed cases of Coronavirus,  92, 704 patients have passed on while 4, 003, 682 others  have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Russia with 291, 882 active cases of Coronavirus(9612 new and 438 deaths*) followed by the United Kingdom which has documented 4, 299, 199 all time infections 126, 263  patients are no more, while 12, 128 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 160, 808 active cases of Coronavirus(4900 new and 100 deaths*) and France which has reported 4, 242,050 confirmed cases,  91, 833 patients have kicked the bucket while  285, 055 others have been treated and discharged, France  UK is now left with 3, 865,  162 active cases of Coronavirus(91 new *).

    Italy is next as the7th country most hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, now reporting  3, 332, 418  cases,  104, 241 patients have passed on while 2, 671,638 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 556, 539 active cases of the pandemic(25, 707 new and 386 deaths*), followed by Spain which has reported  3, 212,332 all time infections, 72, 910 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with 2, 989, 046 active cases of Coronavirus and Turkey which has documented 2, 971,633 all time infections,  29, 864 deaths and 2, 788,757 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 153, 012  active cases of Coronavirus(22, 030 new and 87 deaths*).

    Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting  2, 645, 186 confirmed cases,  74, 466 patients are no more, while 2, 406,586 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Germany with 164, 134 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 557 new and 195 deaths*) and South Africa now  the 17th country worst hit by the virus with 1, 535, 423 all time cases, 52, 035 deaths, while 1, 461,196 others have been treated and discharged, leaving  South Africa with 22, 192 active cases of Coronavirus. (1462 new and 311 deaths*)
