    COVID-19: Nigeria confirms 17 new cases as 102, 800 die globally

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 17 fresh cases of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 305.

    Out of the 17 fresh cases, eight were discovered in Lagos, 3 in Katsina State, 2 in Abuja, 1 in Niger State, 1 in Kaduna, 1 in Anambra and 1 in Ondo State, making a total 17 fresh cases.

    But out of the 305 cases, 58 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 7 patients have died.

    “Seventeen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 8 in Lagos 3 in Katsina 2 in FCT 1 in Niger 1 in Kaduna 1 in Anambra 1 in Ondo As at 09:30 pm 10th April there are 305 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 58 have been discharged with 7 deaths”, the NCDC said.

    Confirmed cases in Nigeria climbed to 305 just as 1, 669, 490 confirmed case are reported worldwide, with 102, 800 deaths, while 377,04 patients have recovered and discharged.

    According to the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, the United States still maintains the lead as the most afflicted country, reporting 501, 615 with 18,777 deaths, while 29, 191 patients recovered and have been discharged.

    Spain is reporting 158, 273 confirmed cases with 16,081 deaths, while 55,668 patients have recovered and discharged. Italy now has a total of 147, 577 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic with 18, 849 deaths, while 30, 455 patients have been discharged.

    France currently has 125,931 confirmed cases with 13, 215 deaths, while 25, 195 people have been discharged, followed by Germany which currently reports 122, 171, with 2, 736 deaths, while 53, 913 patients have recovered and discharged.

    China now has 83,003 confirmed cases with 3,343 deaths while 77,844 patients have recovered and discharged, while the United Kingdom now reports 74, 605 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 8,974 deaths, while only 588 patients have recovered.

    Iran currently reports 68, 192 cases with 4, 232 deaths, while 35, 465 patients have recovered from hospital and discharged.
