Ruling on the no-case submissions filed by the three defendants, Okeke held that the prosecution has failed to establish any prima facie case against the defendants and therefore “no justifiable reason to call on the defendants to enter their defence.”

“The matter is therefore resolved in favour of the defendants and all the defendants are hereby discharged”, Justice Okeke ruled.

Justice Adeniyi Ademola had in the past absolved himself of any blame, stressing that his problem was his refusal to play ball with the powers that be. He specifically singled out Attorney. General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN as the man behind his woes. Read his letter here.
