In a statement, WAEC said it is suspending the examination as a result of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic and its serious implication for the candidates during the examination coupled with the anxiety the Coronavirus pandemic has generated in members of the public.

“This decision is a demonstration of the organisation’s concern and support for the various protocols being put in place by the Federal and state governments of Nigeria and the governments of the other member countries to check the spread of the disease”, Head of National Office, WAEC Nigeria, Mr. Patrick Ehidiamen Areghan said in a statement.

According to him, the earlier released timetable for the conduct of the examination is hereby suspended until further notice.
