    Coronavirus claims 3207 lives in India as Nigeria reports 25 cases

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 25 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 166, 560.  But out of the 166,560 confirmed cases, 159,946 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,099 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 4515 active cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC@NCDC gov 25 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-10, Taraba-9  Kaduna-3, Rivers-2 and Kwara-1: 166,560 confirmed; 159,946 discharged; 2,099 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 171, 335, 846  confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic, worldwide,  3,683, 428  lives have been taken by the pandemic while 1,967, 108, 046 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered globally based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country till date in terms of total number of infections and deaths. The US has reported 33, 296,735 all time infections, while 595, 678  lives have been lost to the pandemic(13, 794 new and 593 deaths*) , followed by India with 28, 307, 832  all time infections while 335, 102  patients have lost their lives(132, 788 new and 3207 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 16, 624, 480  all time cases, while 465, 199  other patients are no more alive(78, 926  new and 2408 deaths*).

    France has come up as the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 5, 739, 991  confirmations, while 109, 841 lives have been lost to the virus(1355 new and 74 deaths*), followed by Turkey, which has documented 5, 263, 697 all time cases, while 47, 768 patients are no longer alive , no thanks to the pandemic(7181 new and 112 deaths*) and Russia which has reported  5, 031, 583  confirmations, while 120, 217  patients have lost their lives(8702 new and 387 deaths*).

    The United Kingdom is the 7th country most hit, now reporting 4, 510, 596 all time infections, while 128, 057 patients have kicked the bucket(4265 and  12 deaths*), followed by Italy which has registered 4, 223,200 confirmed cases, while 126,283  lives have been snatched away by the pandemic(2896 new and 62 deaths*) and Argentina which has documented 3, 817, 139  all time cases, while 78, 733    patients have lost their lives(35, 355 and 640 deaths*).

    Germany remains the 10th country most afflicted, reporting  3, 697, 999  all time cases, while 88,852 other patients are now dead (5091 new  and 175 deaths*) and South Africa, still the 20th country most afflicted, reporting 1, 669, 231 all time  infections, while 56, 601 patients have been killed by Coronavirus pandemic.
