    Coronavirus resurges in Europe as active cases in Nigeria drops to 7626

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 57 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 163,793. But out of the 163,793 confirmed cases, 154,107 patients have been treated and discharged while 2,060 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7626 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, FCT-20, Lagos-19, Bayelsa-7, Kaduna-4, Rivers-3, Osun-3 and Jigawa-1, making a total of 57 new cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC @NCDC gov 57 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; FCT-20, Lagos-19, Bayelsa-7, Kaduna-4, Rivers-3, Osun-3 and Jigawa-1: 163,793 confirmed; 154,107 discharged; 2,060 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now  135, 761, 557 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide,  2, 932, 274 patients have passed on while 77, 224,360 others have been treated and discharged.

    The world is now left with 55, 604, 923  active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 31, 193, 045 confirmed cases while 562, 077 lives have been lost to the virus(107, 794 new and 1003 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has documented  13, 445,006  confirmed cases, 351, 334 patients are no more, while 11, 825, 011 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 1, 268, 661  active cases of Coronavirus(71, 832 new and 2616 deaths*) and India which has documented 13, 358,805  confirmations, 169, 275 patients are no more, while 12, 081, 443 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 1, 108, 087  active cases of Coronavirus(152, 879 new and 839 deaths*).

    France remains the 4th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 5, 119,585 all time cases,  98, 909 deaths and 316,616  recoveries, leaving France with 4, 704, 060 active cases(119, 271 new and 707 deaths*), followed by Russia which has reported 4, 589, 209  all time cases, 101,282   patients are no more, while 4, 216, 960 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 270, 967 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 156  new and 728 deaths*) and  the United Kingdom, which has registered 4, 384, 610  all time cases, 127, 331 patients are already dead, while 13, 494 others  are now hale and hearty, leaving the UK with 4, 243, 785 active cases of Coronavirus(4443 new and 47 deaths*).

    Turkey  has come up as the 7th country worst hit, now reporting 3, 849, 011 confirmed cases, 33, 939 patients have passed on while 3, 331,411 others have recovered, leaving Turkey with 483, 661 active cases of Coronavirus(103, 354 new and 485 deaths*)  and  Italy which has confirmed 3, 769,814  all time cases, 114, 254 patients have passed on while 3, 122,555 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 533, 005 active cases of Coronavirus(33, 288 new and 675 deaths*) and Spain which has documented 3, 347,512  all time infections,  76, 328 patients are no more, while 150, 376 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 3, 120, 811  active cases of Coronavirus.

    Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, now reporting 3, 012,158  confirmations,  78, 425 deaths and 2, 681,070 recoveries, leaving Germany with 252, 663  active cases of Coronavirus(21, 434 new and 79 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported  1, 558,458  all time infections, 53, 322 patients are already dead while 1, 483,296 others  have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa(20th) most affected country  with 21, 840 active cases of Coronavirus(2216 new and 66 deaths*).
