    Coronavirus: Nigeria records 197 new cases, 10, 944 active; India 95, 735 new

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 197 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, making a total of 55, 829 all time cases of the pandemic in Nigeria.

    But out of the 55,829 confirmed cases, 43,810 patients have been  discharged, while  1,075  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10, 944 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Plateau-83, Lagos-48, Kaduna-17, Abuja-16, Ogun-11, Katsina-7, Imo-4, Edo-3, Nasarawa-3, Rivers-2, Bayelsa-1,  Oyo-1 and Osun-1, making a total of 197 new cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov197 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Plateau-83, Lagos-48, Kaduna-17, FCT-16, Ogun-11, Katsina-7, Imo-4, Edo-3, Nasarawa-3, Rivers-2, Bayelsa-1, Oyo-1, Osun-1; 55,829 confirmed 43,810 discharged 1,075 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.

    Meanwhile, global death toll has passed the 900 thousand mark based on latest statistics from the Centre for System Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland. According to the centre, there are now 27, 991, 630 all time cases, while a total of 906, 122 patients have passed on, while 18, 848, 768 others have survived the pandemic.

    The United States currently leads countries worst hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting 6, 394, 655 all time cases, 191, 702 deaths, while 2, 403, 511 patients have overcome the pandemic, leaving the United States with 3, 799, 442 patients to treat for Coronavirus,(39, 786 new cases) followed by India, which has documented 4,465, 863 confirmed cases, 75, 062 patients have died while 3, 471, 783 others have been able to survive the pandemic, leaving India with 919, 018 active cases of Coronavirus(95, 735 new cases), followed by Brazil with 4, 197, 889 all time cases, while 128, 539 patients have passed on, while 3, 611, 632 others have been discharged, leaving Brazil with 457, 718 patients down with Coronavirus(35, 816 new cases).

    Russia currently sits as the 4th country worst hit by the pandemic with 1, 042, 836 confirmed cases,  18, 207 patients have passed on while 859, 961  others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 164, 668  patients praying to come out alive, followed by Peru which has reported  702, 776  all time cases of Coronavirus, 30, 236 patients have lost their lives, while 536, 959 others are now healthy, leaving Peru with 135, 581 active cases of Coronavirus(6, 586 new cases), followed by Colombia with 686,851 all time cases,  22, 053 deaths, while 552, 885 others have been healed, leaving Peru with 111, 913 Coronavirus patients(7, 338 new cases).

    Mexico is the 7th worst hit by the pandemic with 647, 321  confirmed cases, 69, 049 deaths, while 538, 514  patients have been able to overcome the virus, leaving Mexico with 39, 758 patients down with Coronavirus(4, 461 new cases), followed by South Africa with 644, 438  all time cases of Coronavirus, 15, 265 patients  have passed on, while  573,003 others have managed to survive the pandemic, leaving South Africa with 56, 170 active cases of Coronavirus(2007 new cases), followed by Spain now 9th in the league, with 554, 143 confirmed cases, 29, 699 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with 374, 068 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 764 new cases)_.

    Argentina currently sits at number 10, reporting 512, 293 all time cases, 10, 713 patients are no more, while 390, 098 others have been declared healthy, leaving Argentina with 111, 482 active cases of the pandemic(12, 259 new cases), followed by Chile   with 428, 669 confirmed cases,  11, 781 deaths, while 401, 356 patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving Chile with 15, 532 patients  in need of medical attention, followed by  Iran with 395, 488  all time cases of Coronavirus, 22, 798 deaths and 340, 842 recoveries leaving Iran with 31, 848  active cases of Coronavirus.

    France has been pushed to number 13 with 392, 181 confirmed cases, 30, 819 deaths, while  89, 474 others have been discharged, leaving France with 271, 888 patients down with Coronavirus(9,886 new cases), followed by  the United Kingdom with 360,534 all time cases of Coronavirus,  41, 697 patients have  passed on while only 1, 841 patients have been assisted to recovery since the first cases was reported, leaving the United Kingdom with 316, 996 active cases of the pandemic(2, 937 new cases), followed by Italy in number 19 with 283, 180 confirmed cases, while 35, 587 patients have passed on, while  211, 885  others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 35, 708 active cases of the pandemic(1, 597 new cases).

    China now 36th country worst hit by the pandemic has documented 90, 112 all time cases, 4, 733 deaths while 84, 982 patients have been cured, leaving China with only 397 cases of Coronavirus.
