    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 91 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1, 273.

    Out of the 91 new cases, 43 were uncovered in Lagos, 8 in Sokoto, 6 in Taraba, 5 in Kaduna, 5 in Gomber, 3 in Ondo, 3 in Abuja, 3 in Edo, 3 in Oyo, 3 in Rivers, 3 in Bauchi, 2 in Osun, 1 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Bayelsa, 1 in Ebonyi and 1 in Kebbi state.

    The NCDC said out of the 1,273 cases confirmed in Nigeria, 239 patients have been treated and discharged while 40 patients are dead.

    “@NCDCgov91 new cases of #COVID19 reported; 43-Lagos, 8-Sokoto,6-Taraba, 5-Kaduna, 5-Gombe, 3-Ondo, 3-FCT, 3-Edo, 3-Oyo, 3-Rivers, 3-Bauchi, 2-Osun, 1-Akwa Ibom, 1-Bayelsa, 1-Ebonyi, 1-Kebbi. As at 11:50pm 26th April- 1273 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 239 Deaths: 40”, the NCDC said.

    Confirmed cases in Nigeria grew to 1,273 just as there are currently 2, 965, 363 confirmed cases worldwide, while 206, 265 patients have died based on statistics released by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States still leads the pack of countries most afflicted in numbers and in deaths. The United States currently has 963, 379 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 54, 810 deaths, followed by Spain with 226, 629 confirmed cases with 23, 190 deaths.

    Next is Italy with 197, 675 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 26, 624 deaths, followed closely by France, which now reports 162, 220 confirmed cases with 22, 890.

    The next most affected country is Germany, which now has a total of 157, 495 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 5, 944 deaths.

    Next is the United Kingdom with 154, 032 confirmed cases with 20, 794 deaths, followed by Turkey which has 110, 130 confirmed cases with 2, 805 deaths.

    Iran is next with the most affected country with 90, 481confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 5, 710 patients have died. Following closely is China with 83,909 cases with 4, 636 deaths followed by Russia, which has reported 80,949 cases with 747 deaths.
