    Coronavirus: Nigeria now has 1182 cases as 202, 832 patients die globally

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 87 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 1,182.

    Out of the 87 new cases, 33 were confirmed in Lagos, 18 in Borno, 12 in Osun, 9 in Katsina, 4 in Kano, 4 in Ekiti, 3 in Edo, 3 in Bauchi and 1 in Imo State. According to the NCDC, out of the 1, 182 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, 222 have been treated and discharged, while 35 patients could not make it.

    “87 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported; 33 in Lagos 18 in Borno 12 in Osun 9 in Katsina 4 in Kano 4 in Ekiti 3 in Edo 3 in Bauchi 1 in Imo As at 11:55 pm 25th April there are 1182 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 222 Deaths: 35”, the NCDC said in a statement.

    Globally, there are currently 2, 896, 663 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 202, 832 patients are dead based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, United States of America still leads the pack among the most afflicted countries with the highest number of affliction and death. Forinstance there are currently 938, 072 cases of Coronavirus in the United States while 53, 751 patients are dead, followed by Spain with 223, 759 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 22, 902 deaths.

    Next is Italy which now reports 195, 351 confirmed cases with 26, 384 death, followed by France which now has 161, 644 confirmed cases with 26, 648 deaths.

    Germany is the next most afflicted country, reporting 156, 513 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 5, 877 deaths, followed by United Kingdom which currently has 149, 559 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 20, 381 deaths.

    Turkey currently reports 107, 773 confirmed cases with 2, 706 deaths followed by Iran with 89, 328 confirmed cases with 5, 650 deaths. Next is China where Coronavirus originated. China currently has 83, 908 confirmed cases with 4,636 deaths followed by Russia, 74, 588 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 681 deaths.
