    Coronavirus: Nigeria 162 new, 10, 929 active as India leads with 86, 432 new cases

    LAGOS, Nigeria- The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 162 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 54, 905.

    Out of the 54, 905 all time cases, 42, 922 others have been discharged, while 1,054 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10, 929 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Breakdown of the 162 new case is as follows, Lagos-53, Gombe-21, Oyo-19, Delta-12, Ondo-11,  Plateau-10,  Ebonyi-9, Abuja-6, Kwara-6,  Kaduna-5, Rivers-3, Ogun-2,  Anambra-2,  Imo-2 and  Ekiti-1.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov162 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-53, Gombe-21, Oyo-19, Delta-12, Ondo-11,  Plateau-10,  Ebonyi-9, FCT-6, Kwara-6,  Kaduna-5, Rivers-3, Ogun-2,  Anambra-2,  Imo-2,  Ekiti-1; 54,905 confirmed 42,922 discharged 1,054 deaths”, the NCDC  said in a statement.

    Globally, there are currently 26, 725,507 all time cases, 876, 842 deaths, while 17,803, 438 others have been discharged, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has reported.

    According to the centre,  the United States remains the most afflicted worldwide,  reporting 6, 241, 183  confirmed cases, 188, 496 deaths, while 2, 302, 187 others  have been cured, leaving the United States with 3, 750, 500 patients to treat for Coronavirus(49,889 new cases), followed by Brazil with 4, 092, 832 all time cases,  125, 521 deaths and 3, 467, 525 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 499, 786 Coronavirus patients(51, 194 new cases), followed by  India, which has reported  4, 023,179 all time cases, 69,561 deaths, while 3, 107, 223 others have survived the pandemic, leaving India with 846, 395 patients who are down with Coronavirus(86, 432 new cases).

    Russia, 4th in the league of most affected countries has documented 1, 017,131 confirmed cases, 17, 707 deaths and  835, 884 recoveries, leaving Russia with 163, 540 patients in need of urgent medical attention to get back on their feet, followed by Peru with 676, 848 all time cases, 29, 554 deaths, while 498, 523 others have been declared healthy, leaving Peru with 148, 771 Coronavirus patients(6, 703 new cases), followed by  Colombia with 650, 055 cases of Coronavirus, 20, 886  deaths, while 498, 219 others have been discharged, leaving  Colombia with 130, 950 Coronavirus patients(8, 481 new cases).

    South Africa(7th) has documented 636, 884 confirmed cases, 14, 779  deaths, while 561, 210 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving South Africa with 60, 895 Coronavirus patients to cater for(1,806 new cases), followed by Mexico with 623, 090 confirmed cases of the pandemic, 66, 851 deaths and 514, 663 recoveries, leaving Mexico with 41, 576 active cases of Coronavirus(6, 196 new cases), followed by  Spain, which has confirmed 498, 989 all time cases, 29, 418 deaths, while 150, 376 patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving Spain with 319, 195 Coronavirus patients.

     Argentina currently occupies the 10th spot with 471, 806 confirmed cases, 9, 739 deaths and  340, 381 recoveries, leaving Argentina with 121, 686 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 608 new cases), followed by Chile which has documented  420, 434 all time cases of Coronavirus,  11, 551 deaths while 392,967 others have been cured, leaving Chile with 15, 916 active cases of the pandemic, followed by  Iran with 384, 666 all time cases,  22, 154 deaths, while 332, 131 patients have overcome the pandemic, leaving Iran with 30, 381 active cases of Coronavirus.

    France has been pushed to 13th spot in the league of most affected countries, reporting 347, 267 all time cases,  30, 730 deaths, while 87, 927  others have been discharged, leaving France with 228, 610  active cases of Coronavirus(72 new cases), followed by the United Kingdom(14) in the league, with 346, 506 confirmed cases, 41, 638 deaths, while only 1, 763 patients have been assisted to recovery since the first case was reported in the U.K, leaving the state with 303, 105 active cases of Coronavirus(1,851 new cases), followed by Italy in the 19th spot with 276, 338 confirmed cases, 35, 534 deaths, while 209, 610 others have survived the virus, leaving Italy with 31, 194 patients down with Coronavirus(1, 694 new cases) and then China in the 35th spot with 90, 016 all time cases, 4, 728 deaths, while 84, 825 others have been discharged, leaving China with 463 active cases of Coronavirus.
