    Coronavirus claims 2507 lives in Brazil as active cases in Nigeria drops to 2044

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 122 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 166,682.

    But out of the 166,682 confirmed cases, 162,521 patients have been treated and discharged, while  2,117 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 2044 active cases of Coronavirus, while 18 patients died in the last 24 hours.

    “NCDC@NCDC gov 122 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-105, Imo-4, Kaduna-4, Akwa Ibom-3, FCT-2, Delta-1, Rivers-1, Oyo-1 and Ekiti-1: 166,682 confirmed; 162,521 discharged; 2,117 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 171, 828, 979  confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 3, 579, 248  lives have been wasted by the pandemic, while  a total of 2, 007, 724, 895 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered globally based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted, with  33, 321, 184 confirmed  cases of the pandemic, while 596, 332 patients have been killed by the pandemic(24,449 new and 654 deaths*), followed by India, which has documented 28, 441, 986  confirmations, while 332, 989 patients have lost their lives to the pandemic(134, 154 new*) and Brazil which has registered 16, 720, 081  all time infections,  while 467, 706  patients are no more alive as a result of the pandemic(95, 601 new and 2507 deaths*).

    France remains the 4th country most afflicted with 5, 755, 549 all time cases, while 109, 990 patients have kicked the bucket,(15, 558 new and 149 deaths*) followed by Turkey which has reported  5, 270, 299 all time cases, while 47, 882  lives  are no more(6602 new and 114 deaths*) and Russia which has documented 5, 040, 390 all time cases, while 120, 604  patients have lost their lives following onset of the pandemic(8807 new and 387 deaths*).

    The UK remains the 7th country most afflicted, now reporting 4, 515, 777  all time infections, while 128, 075 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(5181 new and 18 deaths*), followed by  Italy which has reported 4, 225, 163 confirmed cases, while 126, 342 patients are already dead(1963 new and 59 deaths*) and Argentina which has registered  3, 852, 156 confirmed cases, while 79, 320 other patients have died(35, 017 new and 587 deaths*).

    Germany remains the 10th country most hit, reporting 3, 701, 690 all time cases, while 88, 965 patients have lost their lives to the pandemic (3691 new and 113 deaths*)  and South Africa which has reported 1, 669, 231 all time cases, while 56, 601 patient are already dead as a result of the pandemic.
