    Coronavirus claims 2831 lives today in the US; 2 die in Nigeria

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 167  new  cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 209, 713.

    But out of the 209, 713 confirmed cases, 197, 724 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 840 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 9149 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while  2 patients died in the last 24 hours.

    NCDC: 167 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Taraba – 109,  Lagos – 17,  Plateau – 16, Bauchi – 11,  Rivers – 6,  Delta – 3, Akwa Ibom – 2, Imo – 2, Bayelsa – 1:  209, 713 confirmed;  197,  724 discharged; 2, 840 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now  241,973, 285  confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 920,  857 people have been killed by the pandemic, while a total of 6, 693, 926,  785 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country globally, reporting 45,209, 552  confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic,  while 731, 127  patients are already dead(70, 452 new and  2831 deaths#), and India, which has documented 34, 108, 996 all time infections, while 452,651 other patients could not make it alive and Brazil which has reported 21, 680, 488 confirmations and 604,228 deaths(15, 609 new and 373 deaths#).

    The United Kingdom  has come up as the 4th country most afflicted, reporting  8, 629, 856  confirmed cases, while 139, 444 patients are no more(48, 568 new and 179 deaths#), followed by  Russia with  7, 969, 960  all time cases, while 222,320  patients are no more(33, 162 new 1006 deaths#) and Turkey, now reporting 7, 744, 109  all time cases, while 68, 274 patients have kicked the bucket(29, 760 new and 214 deaths#).

    France remains the 7th country most hit by Coronavirus pandemic, reporting  7, 202, 840 confirmed cases, while 118,300 lives have perished(6086 new and 28 deaths#), followed by  Iran, which has documented 5, 821, 737 all time infections, while 124, 585 lives are no more(11,770 new and 162 deaths#) and  Argentina with 5, 274, 766 all time cases, while 115,737 lives have been consumed by the pandemic.

    Spain is the 10th country most hit, reporting 4, 993, 295  all time infections, while 87, 082 patients have been killed by the virus(2528 new and 31 deaths#) and South Africa the most hit in Africa.  South Africa has  reported  2, 917, 846  all time cases, while 88, 754  lives are no more(591 new and 80 deaths#).
