    Coronavirus claims 11 lives in Nigeria 1344 in US, 1206 in Russia

    LAGOS – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 53 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 212, 947.

    But out of the 212, 947 total cases, 205,000 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 933 patients could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 5014 active cases of Coronavirus, while 11 patients died in the last 24 hours.

    “NCDC: 53 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria: Lagos- 19, FCT – 7, Plateau -7,  Rivers- 7, Imo -5,  Kano -4, Zamfara – 2,  Bayelsa -1, Gombe -1: 212, 947 confirmed;  205, 000 discharged; 2, 933 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 251,795,820 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 5, 077, 932 patients are no more while 7,371,924,481 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 46, 832, 127 all time cases and 759, 545 deaths(94, 930 new and 1344 deaths#), followed by India, which has reported 34, 401, 670  all time cases, while 462,189 others have perished(13, 091 new and 340 deaths#) and Brazil now reporting 21, 909, 298 total cases and  610, 036 deaths(12, 273 new and 280 deaths#).

    The United Kingdom has come up as the 4th country most hit, reporting 9, 495,093  all time cases, while 142,966  patients have passed(43, 376 new and 194 deaths#) , followed by Russia which has reported 8,804,297 confirmed cases, while 247,000 patients could not make it alive(39, 584 new and 1206 deaths#) and Turkey, now reporting 8, 317, 394   all time infections, while 72, 713 patients have passed on.

    France remains the 7th country most hit, with 7, 358,920 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 119, 021 patients are now dead(12, 643 new 18 deaths#), followed by Iran, now reporting 6,019, 947 all time cases, while 127,809  others have perished(7539 new and 123 deaths#) and Argentina, which has documented 5, 300, 985 confirmations and 116, 184 deaths(1567 new and 19 deaths#).

    Spain is the 10th country most hit by the pandemic with 5, 038,517 all time cases, while 87, 617  patients are no more and South Africa which has registered 2,924,622 all time cases, while 89, 435 patients have perished(305 new and 48 deaths#).
