    Coronavirus: Nigeria lists 520 new 23, 594 active as Brazil reports 44, 299 cases in 24 hours

    LAGOS, Nigeria- The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 520 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 146,184. But out of the 146,184 confirmed cases, 120,838 others have been treated and  discharged, while  1,752  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 23, 594 active cases of Coronavirus, while 5 patients died in the last 24 hours.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Ondo-120, Borno-41, Ebonyi-37, Benue-33, Plateau-30, FCT-29, Nasarawa-25, Ogun-25, Edo-24, Osun-24, Katsina-22, Kaduna-21, Niger-20, Kwara-14, Ekiti-13, Yobe-10, Oyo-4, Bayelsa-1 and Jigawa-1, making a total of 520 new cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC@NCDC gov 520 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Ondo-120, Borno-41, Ebonyi-37, Benue-33, Plateau-30, FCT-29, Nasarawa-25, Ogun-25, Edo-24, Osun-24, Katsina-22, Kaduna-21, Niger-20, Kwara-14, Ekiti-13, Yobe-10, Oyo-4, Bayelsa-1 and Jigawa-1;  146,184 confirmed ; 120,838 discharged;  1,752 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 108, 732,993 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide,  2, 397,495 patients are already dead, while  60, 990,690 others have survived the pandemic and therefore discharged. There are now 45, 344, 808  active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting  27,630, 443 confirmed cases, while 485, 109 patients have died of the pandemic(86, 407 new and 1565 deaths*), followed by India, which has documented 10, 904,940 confirmed cases, 155, 642 deaths, while 10, 611, 731 patients are now hale and hearty, leaving India with 137, 567 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 194 new and 92 deaths*) and Brazil, which has reported 9, 809, 754  all time cases, 238,532 patients are no more, while 8, 740, 445  others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Brazil with 830, 777 active cases of Coronavirus(44, 299 new and 1043 deaths*).

    The United Kingdom remains the 4th country worst hit, now reporting 4, 049, 905 all time cases, 117, 386 patients are already dead, while 10, 860 patients have been assisted to recovery, leaving the UK with 3, 921, 659 Coronavirus patients(11, 021 new and 258 deaths*), followed by Russia which has documented 4, 026, 506 all time cases, 78, 825 patients are no more, 3, 553,326 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 394, 355 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 968 new and 422 deaths*) and France, now reporting 3, 467, 884 all time infections, 80, 961 deaths and 244, 962 recoveries, leaving France with 3, 141, 961 active cases of Coronavirus(833 new and 6 deaths*).

    Spain  remains the 7th country most affected, reporting 3, 056, 035  all time cases, 64, 747 deaths, while 150, 376 others have been discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 840, 912 Coronavirus cases, followed by  Italy, which has documented 2, 721, 879 all time cases, 93, 577 deaths, while 2, 225,519 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 402, 783 active cases of Coronavirus(11,060 new and 221 deaths*) and Turkey, which has registered 2, 586, 183  confirmed cases, 27, 471 deaths, while 2, 475, 329 others  have been given clean bill of health, leaving Turkey with 83, 383 active cases of Coronavirus(6287 new and 94 deaths*).

    Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 2, 341, 744 confirmations,  65, 016 patients have passed on while 2, 129, 318 others have been cleared and therefore discharged, leaving Germany with 147, 410 active cases of Coronavirus(4845 new and 185 deaths*) and South Africa, now the 16th country most hit, reporting 1, 491,807 confirmations, 47, 899 deaths, while 1, 388, 321 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving South Africa with 55, 587 active cases of Coronavirus(1744 new and 78 deaths*).
