    Coronavirus: New cases on the decline globally as 1456 die in USA, 9 in Nigeria

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 521 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases in the country to 152,074. But out of the 152,074 confirmed cases, 128,619 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,839  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 21, 616 active cases, while 9 patients passed on in the last 24 hours.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-166, Ogun-52, Rivers-47, Adamawa-37, Ebonyi-37, Akwa Ibom-25, Osun-21, Bayelsa-18, Kaduna-17, Oyo-16, FCT-15, Ekiti-14, Kano-12, Edo-12, Borno-9, Yobe-8, Ondo-6, Nasarawa-4, Bauchi-2 and Kwara-3, making a total of 521 new cases of Coronavirus.

    There are now 111, 268, 162 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide,  2,464,019 patients are already dead, while  62, 746, 462 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 46, 057, 681 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country,  now reporting 28,119,533 confirmed cases,  while 498, 514 others have lost their lives(62, 269 new and 1456 deaths*), followed by India which has documented  10,991,533 all time cases, 156, 302 patients are already dead, while 10, 689, 715 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 145, 516 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 146 new and 90 deaths*) and Brazil now reporting 10, 139, 148 registered cases,  245,977 patients have been killed by the virus, while 9,070,505 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 822, 666 active cases of Coronavirus(57, 472 new and 1212 deaths*).

    The United Kingdom has retained its position as the 4th country most hit with the pandemic, reporting  4, 125,573  confirmations,  120, 810 patients are no more, while 11, 298 others have been assisted to recovery, leaving the UK with 3, 993, 465 Coronavirus patients(7880 new and 218 deaths*), followed by Russia which has documented  4, 117, 992 all time cases, 81, 926  patients are no more, while 3,672,084  others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Russia with 363,  982 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 568 new and 409 deaths*) and France now reporting 3, 597,540 confirmed cases,  83, 546 patients have passed on while 253, 337 others are now hale and hearty, leaving France with 3, 260, 657 Coronavirus patients(427 new*).

    Spain continues as the 7th country most affected by the pandemic, reporting 3, 133, 122  confirmed cases,  67, 101 patients have died as a result of the virus, while  150, 376 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Spain with 2, 915, 645 Coronavirus patients, followed by Italy, which has documented 2, 809, 246 all time  infections, 95, 718  patients have lost their lives to the virus, while 2, 324, 633 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 388, 895 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 450 new and 232 deaths*) and Turkey, which has registered  2, 638, 422 confirmations,  28,060 deaths, while 2, 523, 760 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 86, 602  active cases of Coronavirus(6546 new and 77 deaths*).

    Germany  is now the 10th country worst hit, now reporting  2, 394, 515 confirmed cases,  67, 900 deaths while 2, 198,007 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 128, 608 active cases of Coronavirus(6354 new and 116 deaths*) and South Africa(16) which has confirmed  1,502, 367 all time cases,  48, 940 patients have passed on while 1, 409,553 others have survived the pandemic and therefore discharged, leaving South Africa with 42, 874 active cases of Coronavirus(1690 new*).
