    Coronavirus: Active cases in Nigeria drops to 5097 as 1213 die in Russia

    LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 89 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 211, 887.

    But out of the 211, 887 cases in the country, 203, 895 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 895 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 5097 active cases of Coronavirus .

    NCDC: 89 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Bauchi – 22, Edo -17, FCT – 17, Lagos -15, Plateau – 10,  Kaduna – 4,  Taraba – 2, Bayelsa – 1, Delta -1: 211, 887 confirmed; 203, 895 discharged; 2,895 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 246,394,420 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 995,018 patients have died while 6, 947,883,074 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States has so far confirmed 45,953,186 all time infections, while 745, 668 lives have perished(60, 642 new and 713 deaths#), followed by India, which has reported 34, 260, 470 all time cases, while 457,470 lives are no more(14, 313 new and 279 deaths#) and Brazil, which has documented 21, 804,094 all time cases, while  607, 694 patients have perished(22, 658 new and 626 deaths#).

    The United Kingdom has come up as the 4th country most hit, reporting 9, 062,710 total infections  and 140, 981 deaths(41, 103 new and 167 deaths#), followed by Russia which has documented 8, 338,053 confirmations, while 233, 063 other patients could not make it alive(39, 203 new and 1213 deaths#) and Turkey, now reporting 8,009,010 total infections, while  70, 410 patients have perished(47,505 new 412 deaths#).

    France remains the 7th country most afflicted, with 7, 262,178 documented cases, with 118,612 deaths, (7399 new and 23 deaths#)followed by Iran with 5, 916,211 all time infections, while 126, 126 patients have passed on as a result of the pandemic(6809 new and 128 deaths#) and Argentina with 5, 288,259 total cases of the pandemic, while  115, 942 patients have kicked the bucket(2185 new and 26 deaths#).

    Spain remains the 10th country most hit, reporting 5, 011,148 total cases, while  87, 368 lives have perished(13 new ) and South Africa with 2,921, 886 documented cases of Coronavirus, while 89, 163 patients could not make it alive(297 new and 12 deaths#).
