    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 97 new cases of the Coronavirus, bringing all time cases in the country to 57,242.

    But out of the 57,242  all time cases, 48,569 others have been discharged, while 1,098 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7, 575 active cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-46, Kwara-12, Rivers-11, Adamawa-4, Niger-4, Ogun-4, Osun-4, Ekiti-3, Imo-3, Kaduna-3, Plateau-2, Abuja-1, making a total of 97 new cases of the virus.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov 97 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-46, Kwara-12, Rivers-11, Adamawa-4, Niger-4, Ogun-4, Osun-4, Ekiti-3, Imo-3, Kaduna-3, Plateau-2, FCT-1; 57,242 confirmed 48,569 discharged 1,098 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.

    On a global scale, there are currently 30, 877, 717 confirmed  cases of Coronavirus,  958, 461  patients  have already lost their lives,  while 21, 103, 731 others have overcome the pandemic, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has said.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most hit by the virus, reporting 6,791, 815 all time cases, 199, 479 patients already dead, while 2, 577, 446  others have survived, leaving  the United States with 4, 014, 890 patients to treat for Coronavirus(35, 034 new cases), followed by India, which has reported 5, 400,619  confirmed cases, 86, 752 deaths and 4, 303, 731 recoveries, leaving India with 1, 010, 136 patients  in urgent need of medical attention to get back on their feet(92, 605 new cases) and Brazil with  4, 528, 240  all time cases, 136, 532 patients have given up the ghost,  while  3, 937, 914 others have been able to overcome the virus, leaving Brazil with 453, 794 active cases of Coronavirus(33, 057 new cases).

    Russia, currently the 4th most hit by the virus has reported 1,098, 958 cases of the virus, 19, 349 lives have been lost, while 906, 431 patients  have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 173, 178 patients to treat for the virus, followed by Peru with 762, 865 all time cases of the virus, 31, 369 deaths, while 607, 837 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Peru with  123, 659 active cases of Coronavirus(6, 453 new cases) and Colombia which has reported 758, 398 confirmed cases, 24, 039 patients have died, while 627, 685  others are now healthy, leaving Colombia with 106, 674  active cases of Coronavirus(7, 927 new cases).

    Mexico now sits as the 7th nation worst hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting 694, 121 cases over time, 73, 258 patients are no more, while 586, 154 others have regained good health, leaving Mexico with 34, 709 cases of Coronavirus(5, 167 new cases) , followed by  South Africa with 661, 211  cases recorded over time,  15, 953 patients have been  killed by the virus, while 590, 071 other have been able to overcome virus, leaving South Africa with 55, 187 patients in need of medical attention to get back on their feet(1,555 new cases) and Spain with 640, 040  all time cases of the virus, 30,495 deaths and  about 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with about 459, 169 active cases of the virus.

    Argentina has moved up and now stands as the 10th most affected nation,  with 622, 934 confirmed cases, 12, 909 deaths and 488, 231 recoveries, leaving Argentina with 121, 794 active cases of the virus(9, 276 new cases), followed by France with 467,614 all time cases of the virus, 31, 257 deaths while 93, 586 others have recovered, leaving France with 342, 771 Coronavirus  patients to assist to the point of recoveries(62 new cases)  and Chile with 446,274 all time cases of the virus, 12, 286 patients have passed on while  419, 746 others have defeated the virus, leaving Chile with 14, 242  Coronavirus patients hoping for the best to get back on their feet(1, 600 new cases).

    Iran now sits as the 13th nation most affected by the ailment, with 422, 140 cases over time,  24, 301 patients have died while  359, 570 have been discharged, leaving  Iran with 38, 269  active cases of Coronavirus, followed by the United Kingdom, which has documented  396, 744   confirmed cases, 41, 866 others have lost their lives to the virus, while only  2, 228 patients have been assisted to overcome the virus, leaving the UK with  352, 650 patients hoping for the best to get out of their predicament(3, 902 new cases) and Italy, 20th in the league of most afflicted country which has recorded  298, 156  all time cases of Coronavirus, 35, 707 deaths and 218,351 recoveries, leaving Italy with 44, 098 Coronavirus patients(1, 587 new cases) .

    China, where the virus was first reported now sits as the 40th nation most afflicted by the virus with 90,357 all time cases of the virus,  4, 737 deaths, while 85, 230 others  have been discharged, leaving China with  390 active cases of the virus.
