    Coronavirus: 373 new in Nigeria, 66,999 in India, see cases in top 12 countries

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 373 new cases of #Coronavirus in Nigeria, making a total of 48, 116 cases.

    Out of the 48,116 confirmed cases, 34,309 patients have been discharged, while 966 others could not make it alive.

    Breakdown of the new cases of #coronavirus is as follows, Lagos-69, Osun-41, Kaduna-40, Oyo-40, Abuja-35, Plateau-22, Rivers-19, Kano-17, Ondo-17, Ogun-15, Abia-14, Gombe-12, Imo-9,  Enugu-7, Kwara-6, Delta-5, Niger-2, Borno-1, Bauchi-1, Nasarawa-1, making a total of 373 new cases of #Coronavirus in Nigeria.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov373 new cases of#COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-69, Osun-41, Kaduna-40, Oyo-40, FCT-35, Plateau-22, Rivers-19, Kano-17, Ondo-17, Ogun-15, Abia-14, Gombe-12, Imo-9,  Enugu-7, Kwara-6, Delta-5, Niger-2, Borno-1, Bauchi-1, Nasarawa-1; 48,116 confirmed 34,309 discharged 966 deaths”, NCDC said in a statement.

    Globally, there are currently 20, 744, 267 confirmed cases, 752, 051 deaths, while 12, 917,341 patients have recovered based on current statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected country in the world, reporting,5, 224, 238 confirmed cases,  167, 029 deaths, while 1, 774,  648 patients have recovered, leaving the United States with 3,282, 561 active cases of the pandemic(36, 627new cases and 1,198 deaths in 24 hours), followed by Brazil which has documented 3, 164, 785 cases,  104, 201 deaths, while 2, 520, 182 patients have recovered, leaving Brazil with 540,402  active cases of the virus(55, 155 new cases and 1, 175 deaths in 24 hours) .

    India, the third most affected country has reported 2, 396, 637 confirmed cases, 47,033 deaths, while 1, 695, 982 others have been able to recover, leaving India with 653, 622 active cases of Coronavirus (66,999 new cases and 942 deaths in 24 hours), followed by Russia, which has reported 905, 762 confirmation, 15, 353 deaths, while 714, 934  patients have been discharged, leaving Russia  with 175, 475 active cases of the virus.

    In the 5th position is South Africa(SA), which has reported 572, 865 cases, 11,270 deaths, while 437,617 others have been able to recover, leaving South Africa with 123, 978 active cases of the pandemic(3,946 new cases and 260 deaths in the last 24 hours) , followed by Peru(6) with 498, 555 confirmed cases, 21, 713 deaths, while 341,938 patients have recovered, leaving Peru with 134, 904 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Mexico with 498, 380 confirmations,  54, 666 deaths, while 401,182 patients have been discharged, leaving Mexico with 42, 532 active cases. 

    In the 8th spot is Colombia with 422, 519 confirmed cases, 13, 837 deaths, while 239,785 patients have been able to recover, leaving Colombia with 168, 897 active cases,  followed by Chile, which has documented  380, 034 cases, 10, 299 deaths, while 353, 131 others have been discharged, leaving Chile with 16, 604 active cases, followed by  Spain(10) with 337, 334 confirmations,  28, 604 deaths, while 150,376  people have recovered.

    Spain is left with 158, 354 active cases(7, 550 new cases and 25 deaths in the last 24 hours), followed by Iran, now 11th in the league of most affected countries. Iran has reported  336, 324 confirmed cases, 19, 162 deaths, while  292, 058 people have been discharged, leaving Iran with 25, 104 active cases, followed by the United Kingdom, now 12th in the league with 315, 583 confirmations, 46, 791 deaths, while  only 1, 473  patients have been able to recover in the U.K. The United Kingdom is now left with 267, 319 active cases of the pandemic( 19 new cases).

    Italy is number 17th on the spot with 252, 235 confirmed cases,  35, 231 deaths, while 202, 923 patients have been discharged, leaving Italy with  only 14, 081 active cases of Coronavirus(522 new cases  and 6 deaths in the last 24 hours) and France(19) with 244, 164 confirmed cases, 30, 392 deaths, while 83, 612 people have been able to recover, leaving France with 130, 160 live cases(103 new cases and 17 deaths in the last 24 hours) and then China, where the pandemic was first reported.

    China (31) has documented 89, 114 confirmed cases, 4, 699 deaths, and 82, 741 recoveries, leaving China with 1, 674 active cases of #Coronavirus.
