    Coronavirus: 126 new and 7641 active in Nigeria as India leads with 90, 123 new cases

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 126 new cases of Coronavirus in the country bringing  all time cases in Nigeria to 56,604.

    But out of the 56,604 cases  47,872 patients have been discharged, while  1,091  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7, 641 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows,  Abuja-37, Lagos-27,  Plateau-16,  Kaduna-9,  Abia-7,  Gombe-6,  Ondo-6,  Imo-5,  Delta-2,  Ekiti-2,  Kwara-2,  Oyo-2,  Bauchi-1,  Kano-1, Katsina-1, Ogun-1 and Yobe 1, making a total of 126 new cases of the pandemic.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov126 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; FCT-37, Lagos-27,  Plateau-16,  Kaduna-9,  Abia-7,  Gombe-6,  Ondo-6,  Imo-5,  Delta-2,  Ekiti-2,  Kwara-2,  Oyo-2,  Bauchi-1,  Kano-1, Katsina-1, Ogun-1 and Yobe 1; 56,604 confirmed 47,872 discharged 1,091 deaths”, the NDCD said in a statement.

    However, there are currently 29, 684, 258 confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally, 937, 335 patients dead, while 20, 150, 608 others have recovered, based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains  worst hit by the virus, reporting 6, 621, 523 all time cases, 196, 485 patients have been killed by the virus while 2, 495, 127 others have survived, leaving the US with 3,929, 911people to manage for the virus(20, 186 new cases), followed by India which has documented 5, 020, 359 all time cases, 82, 066 patients have died as a result of the pandemic, while 3, 942, 360 others managed to survive, leaving India with 995,933 active cases of the pandemic(90, 123 new cases) and Brazil which has reported  4, 382, 263  cases over time, 133, 119 lives have been snatched by the virus, while 3, 820, 958  others  were assisted to recovery, leaving Brazil with 428, 186 active cases of the pandemic(36, 653 new cases).

    With 1, 075, 485 confirmed cases, Russia remains  the 4th  nation worst hit by the virus which has snatched 18, 853 lives, while 887,457 patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 169, 175 patients to manage for Coronavirus, followed by Peru, which has documented 738,020  confirmed cases, 30, 927 patients could not make it alive while 580, 753 others are now healthy, leaving Peru with 126, 340 active cases of the pandemic(4,160 new cases) and Colombia which has reported 728, 590 all time cases, 23, 288 deaths and 607, 978 recoveries, leaving Colombia with 97, 324 active cases of the pandemic(6, 698 new cases).

    Mexico, now the 7th nation worst hit by the virus has 676, 487 confirmed cases, 71, 678 patients are now more, while 569,546 others have been discharged, leaving Mexico with 35, 263 cases of Coronavirus to manage(4, 771 new cases), followed by South Africa which has reported 653, 444 all time cases, 15, 705 patients have passed on while 584,195 others  have overcome the pandemic, leaving South Africa with 53, 544 patients to treat for Coronavirus(1, 923 new cases) and Spain with 614, 360 cases of the pandemic, 30, 243 patients have  been killed, while over 150, 376 patients have been discharged, leaving Spain with 433,741 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 193 new cases).

    Argentina, 10th nation worst hit by the virus has reported 577, 338 cases over time, 11, 910 deaths, while 448, 263 patients have been able to defeat the pandemic, leaving Argentina with 117, 165 patients to assist to recovery(11, 892 new cases), followed by France with 443, 869 cases of Coronavirus, 31, 056 lives are now lost while 91, 293 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving France with 321,520 patients to treat for Coronavirus(147 new cases) and Chile which has reported 439,287 all time cases, 12,058 deaths, while 411, 853 others  have been cured of the virus, leaving Chile with 15, 376 patients to manage to the point of recovery.

    With 410,334 documented cases, Iran remains the 13th nation worst hit by the virus, reporting 23, 632 deaths, while 352,019  others have been assisted to conquer the pandemic, leaving Iran with 34, 683 active cases of the virus, followed by  the United Kingdom which has so far suffered the highest casualties in Europe. The U.K has reported 380, 667 all time cases,  41, 773 deaths, while only 2, 186 patients have been assisted to overcome the virus, leaving the United Kingdom with 336, 708 Coronavirus patients  in need of medical attention to get back on their feet(3, 999 new cases) and  Italy, 20th  country worst hit by the virus with 291, 442 confirmed cases of  the pandemic,  35, 645 patients  have lost their lives while 215, 265 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 40, 532 active cases of Coronavirus(1, 452 new cases) and China where the pandemic was first reported.

    China has been pushed down to the 40th nation most affected by the pandemic, reporting 90, 244 all time cases, 4, 736 deaths while 85, 146 patients have been discharged, leaving China with 362 Coronavirus patients in need of medical attention to get back  on their feet.
