    Concern as Coronavirus overwhelms US 175,561 in 24 hours 6 million active

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 156 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 64,884.

    Out of the 64,884 all time cases, 60,936 patients have been treated and  discharged while 1,163  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 2785 active cases of Coronavirus, #coronavirusngr.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-70, FCT-22, Kaduna-18, Rivers-15, Plateau-11, Ogun-10, Bauchi-3, Katsina-3, Kano-2, Ekiti-1 and Osun-1, making a total of 156 new cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov 156 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-70, FCT-22, Kaduna-18, Rivers-15, Plateau-11, Ogun-10, Bauchi-3, Katsina-3, Kano-2, Ekiti-1 and Osun-1; 64,884 confirmed; 60,936 discharged; 1,163 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.

    There are now 53, 166, 820 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide,  1, 312,857 deaths, while  34, 284, 344  patients have been able to recover. There are presently 17, 569, 619  active cases of Coronavirus globally, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has reported.

    According to the centre, the United States of America remains the hottest spot for the pandemic, reporting 10, 675, 820 confirmations,  243, 387 deaths, while  4, 051, 256 patients have been treated and dischargfed, leaving the US with 6, 381, 177 active cases of Coronavirus(175, 561 new cases), followed by India, which has documented 8, 728, 795 confirmed cases of Coronavirus,  128, 668 patients are no more, while 8, 115, 580 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 484, 547 active cases of Coronavirus(44, 879 new cases) and Brazil which has reported 5, 781, 582 all time cases,  97,056 patients have been killed by the pandemic, while 5, 254, 457  others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 430, 069 active cases of Coronavirus(33, 922 new cases).

    France has overtaken Russia to take up the 4th country most afflicted, reporting  1, 915, 428 all time cases,  42, 599 patients have kicked the bucket while 139, 760 patients are now back on their feet, leaving France with 1, 733, 069 active cases of Coronavirus(333 new cases), followed by Russia which has reported  1, 865, 395  confirmed cases, 32, 156 deaths and 1, 396, 851 recoveries, leaving Russia with 436, 388 active cases of Coronavirus(21, 717 new cases) and Spain, which has documented 1, 458, 591 all time cases,  40, 769 deaths, while 150, 376 patients have since been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 1, 267, 446 active cases of Coronavirus(21, 371 new cases).

    The United Kingdom has moved up as the 7th country most affected, reporting  1, 321, 031 all time cases, 51, 396 patients have been killed by Coronavirus, while only 3, 042 patients have been fortunate to survive the pandemic, leaving the UK with 1, 266, 593 patients still down with Coronavirus hoping for the best of medical care to remain alive(27, 318 new cases) and Argentina which has reported 1, 284, 519 confirmations,  34, 782 deaths and 1, 100, 180 recoveries, leaving Argentina with 149, 557 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 163 new cases) and Colombia with  1, 174, 012 confirmed cases,  33, 491 deaths, while 1, 081, 691 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Colombia with 58, 830 active cases of Coronavirus(8, 686 new cases).

    Italy  has assumed the 10th most affected country, reporting 1, 107, 303 confirmed cases, 44, 139 patients are no more, while 399, 238 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Italy with 663, 926 active cases of Coronavirus(40, 902 new cases) and South Africa now the 14th country most hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting  746, 945 all time cases, 20, 153 deaths, while 692, 177 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 34, 615 active cases of Coronavirus(2,213 new cases).
