    CHELSEA 2 EVERTON 0

    By Our Football Correspondent

LONDON – Chelsea turned on the style right where it matters—in their own backyard, the mighty Stamford Bridge—as they sailed to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Everton on Saturday.

The Bridge, a famous old ground in SW6, was rocking as the Blues made sure their London fortress remains a nightmare destination for the Toffees. Goals from the on-form duo of Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto sealed the deal, ensuring all three Premier League points stayed put in West London.

This was a victory stamped with the authority of a team who know how to win at home.

The electric atmosphere, spurred on by the loyal West London faithful, clearly gave Enzo Maresca’s side the edge from the off.

The breakthrough came midway through the first half, and it was a moment of sheer class that had the Shed End bouncing.

Young sensation Cole Palmer (21) latched onto a brilliant, defence-splitting pass from Gusto before sweeping it past Jordan Pickford to make it 1-0.

The noise inside the historic ground was deafening as the Blues took a deserved lead.
Everton, led by David Moyes, had their moments and even rattled the post through Iliman Ndiaye, but they just couldn’t pierce the rearguard marshalled under the famous lights of the Bridge.

The killer blow arrived right before the break, and it was the provider of the first, Malo Gusto (45), who turned goalscorer. A sharp cut-back found the Frenchman, who made no mistake to double the lead.

The second goal sent the Chelsea supporters into orbit, knowing the game was practically over.

The second half was a professional showing, with Chelsea managing the game like the hosts they were.

Everton huffed and puffed, but the job had been done—and the three points banked at the heart of Chelsea’s home. The final whistle brought a roar of approval, confirming that the Bridge remains a fortress, and the Blues are well and truly back.
