    BISHOP BANKOLE JEFFERSON OF MERCY TABERNACLE NABBED FOR N9.5 MILLION FRAUD

    IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – The General Overseer, Mercy Tabernacle, Ogba, Lagos, Bishop Bankole Jefferson(54) has been arrested by operatives of the Special Antirobbery Squad, SARS, Lagos.




    The man of God who has been laying his hands on Nigerians was arrested for alleged N9,050, 000 fraud and has been in police custody in the last two days.

    The Bishop and others now at large were said to have in January 2017, conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit, obtaining by false pretense and stealing, thereby committed an offence punishable under section 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

    According to police sources, Bankole and others did fraudulently obtained the sum of N9,050, 000 from one Akinyemi Adebayo under pretense to supply diesel, an offence punishable under section 312(1)(3) Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.

    Bankole and others were said to have in addition converted to personal use the sum of N9,050, 000, property of Akinyemi Adebayo, an office punishable under Section 285(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.

    Bishop Bankole Jefferson, we gathered has been trying to change his statement after his confessional statement, suggesting that the money was an offering. The matter will soon be charged to court.
    When confronted, Bishop Bankole Jefferson declined to speak on the issue but directed reporters to his lawyer.
