The Lagos State Government has said that it budgeted a total of N1.4 billion for scholarships in the 2013 budget to assist students of Lagos State origin in the various institutions of higher learning. Governor Babatunde Fashola made the revelation while delivering a lecture on the “The Future of Our Nation in the hands of the Nigerian Youth”, at the Lagos State University (LASU) in Ojo, Lagos. Former Super Eagles midfielder, Thomson Oliha is dead. He was 44. He died. He died early Sunday morning after an attack of malaria fever. Oliha was part of the squad that won the nation’s cup in 1994. He was said to have complained of Malaria and was taken to an undisclosed hospital in the Kwara State before he gave up.
