ABUJA, Nigeria – The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has presented certificate of return to former governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Anayo Ethelbert Okorocha.
INEC said in a statement that it is presented the certificate in compliance with the court order of Justice O.E Abang.
It said it has also decided to appeal the judgement which directed it to hand over the certificate of return to Okorocha.
In making the decision, INEC said it also took note of the orders granted by two High Courts in Owerri, Suit No. HOW/596/2019 issued on 23rd day of May, 2019 and another on the 11th of June 2019 in suit No: HOW 663/2019, adding that both are interim orders and not final court orders.
