AWKA, Anambra – Traditional rulers in Anambra State have conferred chieftaincy title of “Dike Si Mba Anambra” on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The chieftaincy title was conferred on Tinubu during his visit to Anambra State on Thursday.

At the event, former Commonwealth Secretary-General Chief Emeka Anyaoku and Chairman of Chrome Group, Sir Emeka Offor, endorsed Governor Charles Soludo for a second term.

The Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, who bestowed the title on President Tinubu, described him as a friend of the state.

According to him, the chieftaincy title was conferred in recognition of Tinubu’s love and support for the people of Anambra State.

Igwe Iweka also praised the President for establishing the South-East Development Commission, noting that it has fostered a sense of inclusion in the region.

He commended the ongoing federal road construction projects in the South-East and urged the President to sustain the momentum.

He said: “We want our governor to continue his good work in the state. He has the people of Anambra at heart. We don’t just like him, we love him. We want him to complete his eight years in office.”

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Emeka Anyaoku described Governor Soludo as a distinguished and effective leader.

He expressed confidence in Soludo and his re-election bid.

“Soludo has done well. He will return come November 2025. He deserves a second term,” Anyaoku stated.

Sir Emeka Offor also affirmed their support for Soludo’s re-election. According to him, Governor Soludo does not focus on party politics but he is committed to service and the development of Anambra State.

In his remarks, Governor Soludo described President Tinubu’s visit to Anambra State as historic and impactful. He stated that the state is determined to transform from a point of departure to a destination of development and prosperity.

“Anambra is on the rise and will attain its potential as the Dubai of Africa.

The state’s progress aligns with the federal government’s vision”he said.

Governor Soludo reiterated the state’s support for President Tinubu and his administration, noting that the conferment of the chieftaincy title signifies their collective backing for the President’s leadership.

Commending the federal government’s investments, he revealed that over N170 billion has been spent on federal roads in the state.

He assured that Anambra is receiving all entitlements due from the federal government.

“President Tinubu must succeed, and we must give him all the support necessary to ensure that he succeed” Soludo declared.

He called on progressive elements and political parties across the country to unite in the interest of national development and urged the President to galvanize unity among progressives to move Nigeria forward.
