KIRIBO, Ondo, Nigeria -Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Alfred Agboola Ajayi, who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) today has said that he is ready to participate in the PDP governorship primaries.
Agboola Ajayi defected after resigning his membership of the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) in Ondo State.
“I’m Ready To Participate In PDP primaries @OfficialPDPNigGovernorship Primary election coming up later next month. #OnaAbayo”, he said on Twitter.
He added, “I finally resigned my membership from the APC today and officially joined PDP in my hometown Kiribo in Ondo South. #OnaAbayo”, he said.
His journey to PDP has not been easy following his altercation with Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Mr. Bolaji Salami who blocked his way and detained him for hours on Saturday, allegedly on the order of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu over his planned defection.
Governor Akeredolu has denied the allegation, noting that the deputy governor is free to go anywhere and wished him well.
