MAKURDI, Benue, Nigeria – The Rotary Club of Makurdi, the Benue State capital, has presented the ‘Friend of Rotary Award’ to the Distinguished Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Patrick Abba Moro, in recognition of his positive contribution and dedication to humanity, and unquenchable passion for community service and friendship.
The award presentation was done during the installation of Rotarian Joyce Tarka, a Special Adviser on agro-business to Governor Samuel Ortom, as the 40th President of the Club, which held at the weekend in City Bay Park Event Hall, Makurdi.
Moro, in his speech at the event, said he had always identified with Rotary Club, because, according to him, the humanitarian services rendered by the Club are in line with his mind towards the people.
He thanked the organizers for the award and congratulated Rotarian Joyce for her investiture, wishing her well in her tenure.
The Senator was accompanied to the occasion by the Member representing Okpokwu State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Agom Anthony, immediate past House of Representatives member representing Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, General Manager of Benue State Environmental Sanitation Authority (BENSESA), Rt. Hon. Solomon Onah, and other associates.

Since Moro assumed office in June 2019 as the Benue South Senator, he has received several honours and recognition awards in appreciation of his outstanding contributions to human development, societal growth, promotion of social justice and valuable inputs to deliberations on the floor of the Senate.
Some of the numerous awards bestowed on him before the ‘Friend of Rotary Award’ include: Distinguished Leadership Prize for Excellence Award, by the Female Students Vanguard for Girl-child Education In Africa (FSVGA);
Senator Of The Year Award, by Daily Independent Newspaper;
Best Performing Senator Award, by Benue Coalition For Good Governance (BCGG); Beacon of Hope of The Society Award, by Benue United Entertainment And Prestigious Awards (BUEPA); The Political Pace-Setter Of Our Time award, by National Association of Zone C Students; Award of Excellence, by the Federal College of Veterinary Medical and Laboratory Technology, Vom, Plateau State; Award of Excellence, by Benue Rebirth Movement (BRM) in recognition of his roles in the actualization of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) and Icon Of Youths Award, by Nigerian Students Parliament.
