[wysija_form id=”1″]March 17, 2015 – The government of Switzerland today said it will return the total sum of $380 million illegally kept in various foreign accounts by the late military Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha to the Nigerian Government ,
The process of returning the money is to be supervised by the World Bank. With the return, the prosecutor in Geneva, Switzerland has closed the case with the Abacha family opened since 1999.
The Swizz authority agreed to return the money under agreement that Abba Abacha would no longer be prosecuted that he had already been detained for 561 days from 2004 to 2006, without receiving compensation.
So far over $700 million have been returned to Nigeria.
