I was attacked in my hotel after anti-Buhari protest in New York – Omokri
NEW YORK – Former aide to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Mr. Reno Omokri has said that he was attacked after the protest at the United Nations tagged#HarrassBuharioutofNewYork. Omokri who was speaking in a video said his attackers trailed him to his hotel where he was attacked.
He said the professional bodyguard attached to him, Mr. Shaun Rally did a professional job by wadding off the attack though he was injured in the process.
“He protected me and pushed me back. I was not injured, I am okay”, Omokri said. He said the matter has been reported to the New York Police Department, NYPD and that they have made a sketch of the attacker and that they are currently looking for the guy.
The attacker is a black man, in black suit, with a black hat, dressed like a Cowboy. From the video online, he slammed an Iron protector on the entry door leading into the hotel, he was pushed back and later on slammed the object on Okri’s bodyguard, injuring him in the process.
He said the rally was very successful and that he merely made calls to people and they abandoned their jobs and joined the protest. He said there was a Pro-Buhari protest also at the UN, alleging that participants in that rally were paid $500 and that he has a video to support his allegation.
“That is what they are doing with your money”, he said.
In his message on the #HarrassBuharioutofNewYork, Omokri said the Buhari administration is threatening to release the identified of foreign exchange defaulters to name and shame them, “yet the same government say they have no interest in exposing the identities of Boko Haram sponsors.
“Nigerians can’t you see the handwriting on the wall? Between forex defaulters and Boko Haram Sponsors, who is greater threat to the public? Must we spell it out to you before you know the truth?’, he said.
